ENGINEERING SERVICES

We provide a range of naval architecture and marine engineering and analysis services in support of vessel design, construction, operation, maintenance and conversion.  

This includes detailed structural design and analysis, mechanical system design and analysis, cargo securing optimization, and analysis in support of class and flag/port state requirements. 

HEC also applies its engineering expertise to research related to new and developing regulations with an emphasis on their impact on existing ships and new designs.

HEC’s engineering analysis capabilities have developed to support our clients’ requirements.  In particular, our practical design experience is supplemented with in-house expertise in hydrodynamics and advanced structural analysis.  We use in-house developed software or have access to industry-standard software for a variety of analysis purposes.  For specialized studies, in particular regarding risk assessment and risk reduction, our analysis group has developed project-specific simulation software. These studies have been performed to support the efforts of the Marine Board of the Academy of Engineers, USCG, IMO, local ports and governments, and for private clients.
